Fourth of July Events in Connecticut

July 4th in Connecticut brings historic parades and 3-D fireworks

Connecticut celebrates the Fourth of July with events as varied as the wonderfully silly Boom Box Parade in Willimantic, where townspeople march with boom boxes playing martial music broadcast from a local radio station, to a replica of an Independence Day from the 1870s, with period games and entertainments, at Mystic Seaport. Other highlights are a Turn of the Century Fest, with sack races and an ice cream social, in Litchfield, and the Great American Boom, a carnival of live music, roaming clowns, and rides, in New Britain. Many towns also host smaller parades and fireworks. Notice that some events take place on July 3.
