Almost Germany! The Hartford Saengerbund (German Club) begins the Christmas season with its Christkindlmarkt (Christmas Market). There will be traditional German and American Christmas music, "Kurrende Singers," many costumed events, Saengerbund Dancers, visits from the Three Wise Men, St. Nikolaus and his helper Hans Muff and much more. Vendors will be offering German imports (smokers, nutcrackers, pewter ornaments, advent calendars, linens, beer steins, etc.) and handcrafted items. Sign up for the gift raffles! Tasty homemade German specialties, such as bratwurst, leberkase, sauerkraut, soup and pastries will be served in the Kaffeestube.
Time: Friday, 5 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
Cost: Entrance fee of donation for the Newington Food Bank.
