The Museum of America and the Sea
Come ashore where America’s maritime history lives. Mystic Seaport has a limited number of dock spaces, but you’ll sail many a sea to find a more beautiful and historic port. Here you will be nearly alongside the last surviving wooden whaling ship and hear the whistle of our steamship. Climb aboard historic tall ships, stroll through a re-created 19th-century coastal village, discover stars in the planetarium, see a working preservation shipyard in action, explore exhilarating exhibits and marvel at gardens and daily demonstrations of maritime trades. On land you’ll be on the museum grounds and walking distance from downtown Mystic’s restaurants and shops. There are showers and heads available on the museum grounds.
