Variety of wineries, and wines, make this trail a fun, and tasteful, experience
Almost two dozen picturesque wineries and vineyards dot the Connecticut Wine Trail, which takes you through one of the most exciting wine regions in the country. Sip a chardonnay at Chamard Vineyards, or the Hawk Eye White under a sail-cloth tent at Hawk Ridge Winery. Stroll through the wine gardens at Sharpe Hill Vineyard, let the kids visit the llamas and alpacas at Bishop’s Orchards. Sit at tasting rooms fashioned from 19th century barns and World War II-era hangars. Take a tour, walk through the vineyards, or just sit in an Adirondack chair with a glass of merlot and admire the stunning scenery. Most wineries are pet friendly; many have live music, wine pairings, classes and comedy nights. Check the website for information on the winter wine trail.
