Sightseeing cruises in Connecticut explore state's maritime history

Sightseeing boat tours and cruises from Mystic, along the Connecticut River, and other points along the Connecticut shore offer a fresh, sailor's eye view of the rich maritime, seafaring, and ship building history of southeastern Connecticut. Join a scheduled cruise or charter a boat for a private party or a fishing excursion. Schedule cruises feature views of lighthouses, nature viewing and bird watching -- including migrating eagles and ospreys on the Connecticut River -- and relaxation at sunset. Individual charters are great for company outings, birthdays, retirements, and bachelor parties.

Breathtaking views of the Connecticut River Valley from decks of a classic riverboat

The pristine Connecticut River Valley has been designated one of the “last great places on Earth” by the Nature Conservancy, and all its beauty is on display as you cruise the Connecticut River on board the 70-foot Becky Thatcher, a Mississippi-style riverboat. After boarding at Deep River Landing, you’ll cruise for 1 1/4 hours through coves and inlets, past marshes, wildlife and the rocky shoreline. Historic sites include Gillette Castle, Goodspeed Opera House and the Haddam Swing Bridge, and you can see them from one of three decks: the main deck with a cocktail bar, the second deck with comfortable seating and windows, and the third open-promenade deck. The boat holds evening charters from May through October, perfect for star-gazing. Please check our website for current train & riverboat schedules.
