Museum After Dark: Hollywood Halloween 2018

At this adults-only party, witches and wizards, monsters and magicians, haunt the galleries, dance to music by DJ zErP, and unwind with other young professionals in a creative environment. Come in character and have your photo taken at the photo booth. Admission includes entrance to the museum galleries, live music, beer, wine, and light snacks. IDs checked at the door.

Monster Mash, the Halloween fete, is on October 27 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Nautical Nightmares: Madness on the Mystic River, is a new show inspired by the writings of the horror author H.P. Lovecraft. Mystic is falling into in trouble! Join the alienists of Arkham to investigate a haunted whale ship and the madness that has infiltrated the community. Nautical Nightmares take an hour and half a mile of uneven terrain including cobblestone, wood planking, grass, gravel, and stairs. Dates: October 12-13, 19-20, and 26-28.

Ghosts from the Civil War Halloween Tours 2018

A troupe of living history volunteers tells the history and legends that surround the Civil War. Listen to the tales of sightings of the specter who haunted the battlefields of Gettysburg and Chancellorsville, and the words of Lincoln a she predicted his demise. Ghosts will wander throughout the first and second floors of the Mansion. Dates: October 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28.

Spirits at Stowe: An Otherwordly tour

Harriet Beecher Stowe attended séances and visited mediums to communicate with departed family members. Stowe’s interest in Spiritualism helped ease the pain of losing most of her children during her lifetime. The paranormal showed up in her writing as well; she included a ghost story in "Uncle Tom’s Cabin." The tour is recommended for ages 12 and older. Dates: October 26, 27 and 31.
